Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after March of the previous year.
Success also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 different events.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
The player's retrieving approach and regular reactions on court had led observers to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to come to the net and play positively, supported by an improved serving game.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.
He rescued 4 initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
